Climbing Snowdon

Myself and three friends (Chris, Jim, & Matt) climbed snowdon as you can see there was more snow than we had thought there would be. It is incredible and I can recommend if you have not climbed snowdon it is well worth. It was also a great weekend catching up with the lads that ran my first marathon with me.

Monday 15 October 2012

This is the list of my 10 remaining marathons.

2013 - May - Kiev (Ukraine) & October - Isle wight
2014 - May - White peak (Derbyshire) & October - Jersey
2015 - April - Vienna (Austria) & August - Quebec city (Canada)
2016 - June - Utah (USA) & September - Yorkshireman (Yorkshire)

Apologies

Jo and I both read the Jersey marathon website wrong. It is £125 for the relay and £30 for the marathon which is much more reasonable.

Need help with letter J

My J is Jersey but it is expensive. It costs £125 to enter. I can not seem to find a cheaper option. If anybody can find a better option that would be appreciated.

Jo and I's balloon flight

We were kindly given the flight as a wedding gift. It took four attempts to fly due to the wonderful summer we have had.

It was a fantastic experience Jo and I had a great time. What a fantastic present.

Letter O: Oslo

Jo and I had planned a cycle trip around Norway which was why I signed up for the Oslo marathon. The marathon was expensive at 750 NOK, which is £75. We then decided it was too complicated working out the cycle route and ended up going to Malta and  scuba diving. We then went onto Norway for 6 days after.

While in Malta the fins I used for diving rubbed on my heel. and just before going to Malta, I twisted my Knee. Our first stop in Norway was Bergen. In Bergen we walked up a mountain which was amazing.
We were walking a 11 mile route we were near the end around 10 miles, when the signs disappeared. We started to panic that we could end up staying the night on the mountain, so we had to run back the way we had come. We did get down but it was not good for my heel or knee. I ended up having to leave my heel uncovered. So I fashioned a carrier bag as a make shift shoe.
I did manage to buy a pair of  crocs, so I did not have to wear a carrier bag for too long. I was not sure I could manage to run marathon, but I had to give it ago. I decided to run with the 4 hour paces.
Jo was fantastic and supported me managing to work out the route and see me at lots a spots through out the marathon.

I finished in 3:55. I was so happy to finish. It is my 4th marathon this year, my 16th marathon in total, leaving 10 marathons in 5 years and one of the expensive marathons completed. My heel hurt and my knee hurt I ran taking pain killers, but overall I was pleased how my body held up. I am looking forward to having a rest.

15:09 miles, I was tired and read my watch wrong

This is the video where I was losing my mind, I could not tell the difference between 13 miles an hour and 13  minutes a mile. I also thought I recorded another video explaining this but I was tired I could not work the camera

Picture with Paul who helped me at my lowest and really helped me get round, we ran together for about 7 miles. I would not have got around if it was not for him. A really great guy.

This was the hardest run Jo and I have done, we new it was 31 miles, but did not expect it to be so hard, it was a hot day as well. The run was well organised and the volunteers at the check points with water and bits of food were fantastic.
